For a perfect protection and an optimal concentration while motorcycling, MotoSafe ear plugs has been developed. MotoSafe contains two different and exchangeable wind noise filter pairs for standard and higher attenuation. These special wind noise filters guarantee optimal protection while at the same time all-round noises are still audible and communication and hearing are still possible. The green filter offers an attenuation which is useful in most situations. The yellow filter offers an attenuation for situations with extremely high noise exposing. This offers the motorcyclist to choose the right attenuation in every situation.
Motor and wind noise are damaging for the hearing. From a speed of 100 km per hour a motorcyclist is exposed to noise that exceeds 90 decibel. The law prescribes a hearing protection when the noise is above 85 decibel. Regular noise above 80 decibels will irrevocably lead to hearing damage. Wind noise is a big problem for motorcyclists. It not only leads to hearing damage, but also to a weaker concentration. According to several helmet tests not one helmet offers sufficient hearing protection.
MotoSafe earplugs are produced from very soft flexible and durable AlpineThermoShape material. Due to the warmth of the ear it adapts to the shape of the auditory duct. Therefore, MotoSafe is very comfortable to wear. MotoSafe earplugs with special wind noise filters are an open system, so that one has no feeling of isolation.
Duration of use
The lifespan of MotoSafe™ earplugs depends on the frequency of use. Keeping the earplugs clean prolongs the lifespan.

Decided to gives these a go as I was having difficulty hearing my intercom with full ear plugs.
They work great! so good I ordered another two pair. I have used both filters and settled on the higher protection until I upgrade my motorcycle helmet.

I use these when riding unfaired bikes as well as a Blood Bike. They cut down the wind noise to a manageable level whilst still allowing Sat nav and phone calls to be heard.

As a rider who had given up on ear plugs after trying many variants, I found the Alpine MotoSafe plugs to be comfortable and effective. I now use plugs each time I ride.
| John Parish Northumbria Blood Bikes
I use mine personally and while doing my Northumbria Blood Bike duties. I find them comfortable and reduce unwanted wind noise really well. They fit well into the ear sufficiently not to interfere with the inside of the helmet and come back out again easily enough.
On occasions I have forgotten to put them in my ears and the difference is remarkable resulting in a stop to install them. The storage case is really good too.
Certainly worth the money.

Never used earplugs before I started riding a Blood Bike. I always expected them to be uncomfortable and to dull my hearing. Not the case and I wear these all the time now, sometimes forgetting I have them in... Thanks Alpine, whish I'd discovered these years ago.
I have been using these plugs while riding my motorbike and they are great. They are really comfy, easy to keep clean and come with a holder so you don't lose them. I highly recommend them.

Hi i use the ear plugs when in out on my own bike plus when in riding the Northumbria blood bike and find them excellent and very comfortable to wear

I've been an avid motorcyclist for over 40 years. My hearing has suffered being I ride Harleys, Ducatis, and other bikes that have loud exhaust systems. My collection is large. I can tell you, after trying many different styles of ear plugs, the Alpine MotoSafe product is by far the best. Comfort and ear retention is second to none. The only thing that surpasses the product is the customer support from Alpine. A fine product to save your hearing yet still be able to enjoy the engine sound we motorcyclists love so well. Thank you Alpine!
Love the fact that your recent product has an extra ear plug. Well done!

I have been using these now for six years, riding 350 miles a day in all weathers and mostly at high speed with a flip front helmet. I use the yelly filters only and have always found them to be supremely comfortable and, provided i wash them each time I use them have never had any issues with ear infections or any suchlike nonsense. My first set lasted three years and I only bought my second set because I temporarily lost one!
Replacement inserts were easily sourced and I highly recommend them
The zip on the case could be a little more robust, both mine lost their tag very quickly

I ride a motorcycle as my main form of transport, I am also a volunteer blood biker and have found the motosafe earplugs very effective. I have always had problems with earplugs in the past, particularly the foam ones. They would never seem to fit one of my ears or would fall out while riding, resulting in me not bothering to wear them. The motosafe are completely different, the soft rubber material fits my ear perfectly and stay in place. They come with a little tube to help put the earplugs securely in place which is really handy. I was unsure how the earplug could reduce the noise to a level that was not damaging but could still allow me to hear traffic or communicate with others, but after trying them i can confirm that they do. I would recommend these earplugs to any motorcycle rider or passenger, especially those who have not had a good experience with the old foam type earplugs.
As per the instructions trim the end of the stem with scissors so it does not stick out beyond your ear.

Bought my first pair of Motosafe plugs and really impressed. These are great and very comfortable to wear, blocks out the harmful sounds but still able to hear what the engine is doing and the cars around me. The carry case also is also handy for keeping my ear plugs together and clean and the free spare ear plug makes them good value.
Making the end wet I found it easier to turn them in my ear to fit them using the provided fitting too. Occasionally I did find the fitting tool would get stuck on the ear plug once fitted, maybe that is something Alpine could look at.

A huge relief for the hearing. Good price quality ratio and very suitable for regular use. No more headache from the sound of the wind blowing on long rides.
| Koen Schaap
The are very comfortable, you can barely feel them when they are in your ears. Even though they muffle the sound level considerably, you can still hear other people talking and understand them perfectly. You can also still hear other sounds in traffic without any problems. I even use them myself when I sleep during the day after a night shift, absolutely no bother from my noisy neighbours behind us or the guy beside me working on his house.
The filters sometimes glide out very easily, so it's hard to get them out of your ears. But tweezers work wonders.
Without the earplugs, I would have to endure ringing in my ears after even an hour on the bike. With the earplugs, I don't have this problem at all, not even after 4 hours of riding.
Tip for fellow users, cut the earplugs to fit, as is also indicated on the packaging. They now fit perfectly.

As a 56-year-old woman who has been riding motorbikes for years, I've bought the hearing protection! I would prefer to have these in my ears than a hearing aid! You don't feel them because of the soft material and you can still hear the traffic you need to hear, for your own safety! So, no matter how old you are, use them! They're good for your hearing!
Earplugs fit well and stay in place during the ride.

Fit well, barely notice them. Noise muffling is also good. Handy storage box with them.
(Almost) no sense of being 'shut off'
can be cleaned
small storage bag
looks fragile, am curious as to how long they will last
The noise of the wind is considerably reduced but you can still hear the traffic properly and any fellow riders.
rode to the Dolomites with them and had no problems with whistling in my ears or anything like that.
You enjoy your surroundings more, while you can still hear the roar from the exhaust.
It's handy that 2 types of muffling are supplied as standard.
- when you talk, you hear yourself as though you have a cold.
- because of the hard tip, you just need to find a good position in your helmet.
Practically no more problems with the irritating noise of the wind. Fantastic price-quality ratio, and for me they work even better than my customised earplugs (which were 5 times the price). Highly recommended!
Little tube was a bit too long, but this was easily shortened using small scissors.
Bought the motorsafe hearing protection and was sold after the first ride! They fit the ear so well that you don't feel them 5 min after putting them in.
Personally I noticed no difference in the filters.
How to insert MotoSafe earplugs
To insert the protectors, use the enclosed insertion tube. Slide the tube over the filter stem.
Slightly pull up your ear and insert the hearing protector into the ear.
Rotate the insertion tube until the protector fits snugly.
Is the earplug too long?
The earplug may protrude from your ear. In that case, carefully remove the filter from the earplug.
Then cut off a small section of the stem and replace the filter in the earplug.
How to clean MotoSafe earplugs? Alpine MotoSafe earplugs last longer if you look after them and clean them regularly.
