What are personal data?
Personal data are all data that can be directly or indirectly traced back to you as an individual. This data therefore contains information about you. Examples of personal data include your name, address details, contact details, bank account number, IP address, and browsing behavior.
What is meant by ‘processing personal data’?
The term ‘processing personal data’ refers to all actions that we can perform with your personal data. This includes collecting, storing, consulting, and deleting personal data.
Whose personal data does Alpine process?
We process personal data of everyone who has direct or indirect contact with Alpine or uses our products and services, such as:
- Website visitors;
- Customers;
- Individuals who have subscribed to newsletters or mailings;
- Job applicants;
- Business partners.
What personal data does Alpine process?
The personal data we process depends on the type of contact you have with Alpine or which of our products and services you use.
An overview of the personal data we process includes:

- IP address;

- Data about your activities on our website;
- Data about your browsing behavior across different websites;
- Internet browser and device type;
- Bank account number;
Other personal data that you actively provide to us, for example by creating a profile on our website, in correspondence, or by telephone.
Why does Alpine process my personal data?
We process your personal data only for clear, specific, and legitimate purposes. This means that we determine the purpose for which we will use the data before collecting it. We will not use your personal data for a different purpose unless that new purpose is compatible with the original purpose.
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- To handle your order and payment;
- To deliver products and services;
- To send our newsletter and or promotional mailings;
- To be able to call or email you if this is necessary to carry out our services;
- To inform you about changes to our services and products;
- To offer you the opportunity to create an account;
- To analyze your behavior on the website in order to improve the website and tailor products and services to your preferences;
- To track your browsing behavior across different websites in order to tailor our products and services to your needs.
We only process your personal data if there is a legal basis for doing so. These legal bases include:
- Your consent;
- The performance of an agreement with you;
- Compliance with legal obligations;
- Our legitimate interests, for example for marketing purposes.
I have given consent but want to withdraw it
You may withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe links in our newsletters and mailings or via the contact details listed above.
From the moment you withdraw your consent, we will stop processing your personal data. Processing that took place prior to the withdrawal remains lawful.
How long does Alpine retain my personal data?
We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary to achieve the purpose for which we collect it. In some cases, we are legally required to retain data for a longer period.
We apply the following retention periods:
Personal details, address details, email address and telephone number are retained for the duration of agreements relating to our services.
What are my rights?
Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
How can I exercise my rights?
You can submit a written request by email to privacy@alpine.eu or by post to Alpine Nederland BV, Europalaan 40, 3526 KS Utrecht, The Netherlands. We will respond as soon as possible and no later than four weeks after receiving your request.
If there is reasonable doubt about your identity, we may verify it by asking additional questions.

Sharing personal data with third parties
We do not sell your personal data to other companies. We only share personal data with external service providers such as payment providers, delivery services, customer service providers, IT and hosting providers, and advertising and marketing services. Where applicable, data processing agreements are in place.
Transfers outside the EEA
We primarily work with service providers within the European Economic Area. Some service providers process data in the United States. In such cases, we ensure an adequate level of protection through appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, a Transfer Impact Assessment.
Automated decision-making
Alpine does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.
