Motor and wind noise are damaging for the hearing. From a speed of 100 km per hour a motorcyclist is exposed to noise that exceeds 90 decibel. The law prescribes a hearing protection when the noise is above 85 decibel. Regular noise above 80 decibels will irrevocably lead to hearing damage. Wind noise is a big problem for motorcyclists.

I am not riding a lot but very often and I have been using Alpine Motosafe for some two years. It took a while until I realised that the yellow insert has a stronger damping. I think as an earprotection it does the job as much as reasonably you can expect. I am very satisfied with it. Ultimately, not wearing it is not an option anymore as for example my new AGV Sportmodular is as loud as hell. I would fine such helmet producers… Yes, the storage pouch is a nice feature.

I really enjoy these ear plugs and keep a set in each of my bikes. They are very comfortable to wear and do a great job of breaking the wind noise. We ride in excess of 15,000 miles/yr so having them is very important. When I stop I just stick them in the watch pocket in my jeans.
